Cheers to the New Year! Mercadito Chicago, River North’s upscale, authentic Mexican restaurant and Chicago PR firm client, is ringing in the New Year on Saturday, December 31 with a selection of celebration packages available throughout the night in their main dining room, and downstairs at the intimate La Mez Agave Lounge.

Before The New Year at Mercadito

Guests are invited to begin their New Years celebrations with a five-course sharing menu courtesy of Executive Chef Patricio Sandoval.

Mercadito’s five-course sharing menu includes your choice of:

  • Three Guacamoles – Tradicional, Piña, Granada, Mango, Camote and Toreado
  • Two Ceviches – Camarón, Mixto and Dorado; OR Botanas – Flautas, Queso Fundido, Corn Masa Quesadillas, Rock Shrimp with Chipotle, Mexican Crispy Cheese or Mahi-Mahi Taquitos
  • Four Tacos – Espada, Estilo Baja, Camarón, Carne, Pollo, Lobster, Carnitas de Puerco, Red Snapper, Brisket, Pastor, Hongos and Rajas
  • Two Sides – Brussels Sprouts, Mac & Cheese, Elote Mexicano, Vegetables, Green Rice Casserole, Plátanos Machos, Arroz y Frijoles, Frijoles Pintos and Ensalada
  • One Dessert – Torrejas de Bolillo, Pastel de Chocolate, Tres Leches, or Flan de Cajeta

Seating for Mercadito’s ‘Before The New Year’ package is from 8 – 9 p.m. Tickets cost $45 per guest, plus tax and gratuity. Reservations are required.

The Perfect New Year at Mercadito

Ring in the New Year with Mercadito and indulge in great food, company and libations. ‘The Perfect New Year’ package includes a five-course sharing menu (see above) and access to a three-hour open bar that includes specialty cocktails and well liquors presented by Hornitos Tequila. Guests may also order beverages from the cash bar.

Seating for ‘The Perfect New Year” is from 9:45 – 10:45 p.m. and ends at 3 a.m. Tickets cost $120 per person, plus tax and gratuity. Reservations are required.

La Mez New Year Package

Downstairs at Mercadito Chicago is the intimate La Mez Agave Lounge, which features a carefully curated list of more than 75 mezcals, along with expertly crafted cocktails. Guests are invited to celebrate New Years Eve in the upscale lounge while enjoying a five-course sharing menu (see above), a four-hour open bar that includes specialty cocktails and well liquors presented by Hornitos Tequila, live music and a special Champagne toast at midnight. Guests can also order beverages from the cash bar.

New Year at La Mez is from 9:45 p.m. – 3 a.m. Tickets cost $150 per person, plus tax and gratuity. Reservations are required.

Mercadito will also be open for dining before the New Year’s Eve festivities from 3 – 7:45 p.m. on Saturday, December 31. Guests are invited to enjoy a la carte items off of Mercadito’s regular menu.

Get in the Holiday Spirit…

Mercadito Chicago Hosts Holiday Party Experiential Dinner, December 19 

Featuring an exquisite four-course menu expertly paired with Casamigos Tequila cocktails


Mercadito Chicago, a Molise PR client, is celebrating the holiday season with a special Holiday Party Experiential Dinner on Monday, December 19 from 6-9 p.m.

The evening is hosted by Monica Dim of Casamigos Tequila and Executive Chef Patricio Sandoval of Mercadito, who carefully curated a delicious four-course meal, each course paired perfectly with a Casamigos Tequila cocktail.

Guests will start off with the first course of Sopa de Hongos, made with shitake, oyster & hen of the woods mushrooms, chile guajillo, corn, chile ancho, epazote, beef broth, huitlacoche croutons and Serrano crema.

Next, guests will delight in Chef Patricio’s Tortitas de Bacalo, mini bolillos filled with salt cod stew, tomatoes, olives, capers, pickled jalapeños, red onions, olive oil, crispy skin and parsley.

The main course includes Chamorro de Cerdo, featuring Coca-Cola braised pork shank, sweet potato, apples, chestnuts, chile pasillas prune sauce, green beans and micro greens.

For dessert, guests will treat themselves to Buñuelos, sugar and cinnamon dusted fritters, smoked sweet plantains, roasted yams, condensed milk, piloncillo syrup and warm chocolate milk.
