The Chicago Automobile Trade Associate (CATA) and the USO of Illinois are partnering to host the 5th annual Barbecue for the Troops on July 15. 100 dealerships throughout the area will simultaneously fire up their grills in support of our local troops.

Skokie is getting smoky… Real Urban Barbecue, with locations in Downtown Highland Park, Vernon Hills, and Oak Brook, is proud to announce the grand opening of their fourth location in Skokie on Friday, June 23 at 10 a.m. Located at 5238 W. A Menu That’s Smoked & Served to Perfection

The Imerman Angels Brunch Run 5K & Walk returns to picturesque Montrose Harbor on Saturday, June 17. Over 2,000 runners and walkers will come together along the beachside course to raise funds to support Imerman Angels and its mission of providing one-on-one support for cancer fighters, survivors and caregivers.
In addition to on-course gourmet surprises, runners and walkers alike will be treated to a signature brunch buffet from award-winning Blue Plate Catering – honored with the 2016 Leading Caterers of America Award. Each participant (21 and older) also receives a trip to the Mimosa Bar, Cold-Brewed Coffee Station featuring High Brew Coffee and an ice-cold beer.
Created by the 2014 Catering Chef of the Year Paul Larson, the brunch menu features a full spread of brunch items including a variety of savory and vegetarian breakfast sandwiches; apple wood smoked bacon; baked cinnamon-raisin French toast casserole; house made breakfast bread assortment, a seasonal fruit display; Blue Plate pastries; roasted breakfast potatoes; Kiddo “pancake” dogs; and mini yogurt parfaits.
Participants have the option to walk or run the chip-timed 5K course, or opt for the single mile course, in honor of a loved one who has battled cancer. Form a team or walk as an individual; this is a family event and all are welcome. Registration for the 5K course costs $50 for adults and $20 for children ages 5-12. The one-mile course is $40 for adults and $20 for children ages 5-12. Children under five are free.
Those who cannot make it on June 17 may register as a virtual runner for $30 and still help raise funds supporting the Imerman Angels mission.

Mercadito Hosts Hola Primavera Experiential Dinner, April 17
An exclusive five-course menu perfectly paired with Código 1530 Tequila pours!
This spring, take your taste buds on a journey down Central and South Pacific Mexico at Mercadito Chicago, a Chicago PR client, with a special Hola Primavera Experiential Dinner on Monday, April 17 from 6-9 p.m.
Guests are invited to enjoy five courses expertly paired with Código 1530 Tequila pours. The evening is hosted by special guest Jackson Miranda of Código 1530 Tequila and Chef Patricio Sandoval of Mercadito.
Guests will begin the journey at the “hidden port” Puerto Escondido with a Ceviche Blanco, lime marinated Red Snapper, shrimp, pico de gallo, Serrano chile, avocado and lime-orange broth.
Next, guests will explore the flavors of Puerto Vallarta with a Smoked White Fish Burrito, smoked white fish, blackened shrimp, toasted flour tortilla, lettuce, tomato and habanero-avocado crema.
