Hard Rock Cafe Chicago, a Molise PR client, is welcoming the summer fun with Culinary Fight Club and Yappy Hour. Culinary Fight Club will take place on June 19 and feature a showdown between four local chefs with proceeds benefiting local non-profit, Fight2Feed. Yappy Hour Tuesdays will kick off on June 20 and take place on the dog-friendly outside patio.


Culinary Fight Club Pitmaster Throw down Challenge – Monday, June 19

On Monday, June 19, Hard Rock Cafe will host a Culinary Fight Club Pitmaster Throw down Challenge from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., where four local Chicago chefs will battle it out in a seriously tasty cook-off. A portion of proceeds from the event will benefit Fight2Feed, a non-profit with a mission end hunger in Chicago by partnering with local restaurants to reduce food waste and share food with people in need.

Participating chefs will have two hours to create their best dish that combines the art of BBQ, grilling and open fire cooking. Industry experts will judge contestants based on presentation and how well the chefs have mastered the pit by cooking up the perfect protein and two sides.

Competing chefs include: Dylan Lipe, The Budlong Hot Chicken; Hipolito Sanchez, Slow Motion For Meat; Kristina Gaardbo, Chicago Culinary Kitchen and Rockin Rodizio; and Corey Rice, a Chicago home cook.

Yappy Hour on the Patio – Tuesdays

hardrockcafe1Molise PR client Hard Rock Cafe is hosting a Culinary Fight Club Challenge this Thursday, August 20th from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Hard Rock Cafe Chicago, where three teams made up of local chefs will go head-to-head in a seriously tasty cook-off.

The competition will be hosted by Kenmore Executive Chef and spokesperson, Kari Karch, and social influence, film editor and home cook Anthony Martorina, and judged by a panel of industry experts.

A portion of the proceeds from the event will help benefit Fight 2 Feed, a non-profit organization that is working to put an end to hunger in Chicago by working with local restaurants to reduce food waste and feed those who need it most in the community.

During the competition, the three teams will have 45 minutes to race to the pantries of 10 different restaurants to get the ingredients they need! The teams will then have 60 minutes to whip up a gourmet dish that will be judged based on taste and presentation.

Judges for the competition include:

Wade Fortin, two-time burger champ of the World Food Championships; Asta Razma, chief creative & digital officer for social media design at HQ 1902; and Johanna Cook, cooking personality, and cooking and talk show host at Momma Cuisine.

The three competing teams include:

“I’m Kind of a Big Dill” featuring the captain, Chef Andrea Williams, Chef de Cuisine at ZED 451; Chef Carl Schwartz, Research Chef; Juan Sanchez, Line Cook at ZED 451 Chicago; and Chef Ryan Dencek, Personal Chef.

“CONEcepts” featuring captain Chef Turon Cummings, CEO of Creative Conecepts; Ava Hawkins, Chicago home-cook; Chef Anin Stewart, personal chef; and Chef Demetrius Dameron, Chef of The Infinite Taste Personal Chef and Catering.

“Team Rockin Rodizio” led by owner and pit boss of Rockin Rodizio, Greg Gaardbo; Kristina Gaardbo, co-owner of Rockin Rodizio and WingChick; Chef Mike Ek, Sous Chef of BBQ Genius; and Phil Wingo, pit boss and owner of porkmafia.com.

On Saturday, August 1, Hard Rock Cafe Chicago (63 W Ontario St.) kept the party going with a special late night show featuring headlining artist Minus the Bear. Guests were encouraged to stop by Top Chicago PR firm Molise PR client Hard Rock Cafe Chicago at 9:30 p.m. and the show kicked off with opening performances from Owen and Wolf-Face. DJ Ryan Pullano, who was recently voted “Best Local DJ” by Chicago Scene, was spinning in between sets and closed out the night until 4 a.m.

The inaugural Hard Rock Rising Barcelona global music festival came to a close this weekend as Robbie Williams and Avicii finished off the two-day festival with memorable performances. Thousands of festival-goers witnessed as legendary artists from around the globe took the stage at Platja del Forum for the finale of Hard Rock Rising Barcelona.

Robbie Williams wowed the crowd with hits like “Millennium,” and “Angels,” and performed a few classic covers, including Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody.” Meanwhile, to top off two days of pure musical bliss in Barcelona, one of the top DJ’s in the world, Avicii brought down the house with a rousing rendition of “Wake Me Up,” to officially end Hard Rock Rising Barcelona 2015.

Day two of Hard Rock Rising Barcelona also featured performances by Spencer Battiest, Thalab, Juanes, and more. Enemy Planes, 2015 winners of Hard Rock Rising global battle of the bands competition, also had the opportunity to take the stage early in the night to complete a full set on a global stage for the first time. In association with ReverbNation, Hard Rock’s global battle saw more than 13,000 bands enter, with hundreds of bands competing live on Hard Rock stages around the world, but only six bands made it to the final live battle round, held in Barcelona on Thursday, July 23. After winning over the Hard Rock Rising judges in a final battle round on Thursday evening, local Minneapolis band Enemy Planes performed just 48 hours later on the main stage to thousands of international festival-goers for the opportunity of a lifetime.

To kick off the festival on July 24 for day one, Lenny Kravitz blew the audience away with his performances of his classic songs such as “American Woman,” “I Belong to You,” and “It Ain’t Over.” Kings of Leon followed up with an incredible rendition of their song, “Use Somebody,” and Steve Angello finished the evening with a high-energy performance. Day one of Hard Rock Rising Barcelona also featured performances by Vestuta Morla, The Carnabys, Osceola Brothers, and more.
