June Mixology Academy with Bulleit Bourbon – Saturday, June 17 at 3 p.m.

Just in time for summer, La Mez Agave Lounge, located downstairs at Mercadito, hosts its monthly Mixology Academy course, led by Beverage Director Paul Tanguay. The course will feature cocktails crafted with Bulleit Bourbon.

Guests are invited to learn insider tips and techniques to craft perfectly balanced cocktails at home, all while absorbing a bit of useful alcohol history about Bulleit Bourbon and getting saucy with friends and classmates. Appetizers will be provided, courtesy of Mercadito Chicago’s Executive Chef Patricio Sandoval. Guests are also welcome to purchase items off of the regular menu.

Dame Calor Experiential Dinner – Monday, June 19 from 6-9 p.m.

Celebrate warmer weather with a special Dame Calor Experiential Dinner. Hosted by Mercadito’s Executive Chef Patricio Sandoval and special guest Paul Sauter of Diageo, guests are invited to enjoy four courses expertly paired with Don Julio Tequila pours.

Guests will begin the night with a Guacamole Trio that includes Sandia, Durazno and Pepino. Guests will then indulge in a Ceviche Trio that includes Camaron, Dorado and Mixto and delight in a selection of tacos, including Carne, Pollo, Langosta and Pescado. The night ends on a sweet note with Tres Leches.

Mercadito Chicago, a Molise PR client, is set to participate in Timeout Chicago‘s first ever Taco Thursday event at Joe’s on Weed Street Thursday, May 11 beginning at 6 p.m. Guests to the event will sample a taco from each of the participating restaurants from around the city, and also sip on two complimentary drinks.

The Taco Thursday event will also feature a live DJ set and games throughout the night. Taco bout a good time!

To help spread the word, Chef Aldo stopped by ABC 7 Chicago to teach Terrell Brown ABC7 how to recreate their signature camarón tacos. Check out the full clip below:

Mercadito Hosts Hola Primavera Experiential Dinner, April 17

An exclusive five-course menu perfectly paired with Código 1530 Tequila pours!

This spring, take your taste buds on a journey down Central and South Pacific Mexico at Mercadito Chicago, a Chicago PR client, with a special Hola Primavera Experiential Dinner on Monday, April 17 from 6-9 p.m.

Guests are invited to enjoy five courses expertly paired with Código 1530 Tequila pours. The evening is hosted by special guest Jackson Miranda of Código 1530 Tequila and Chef Patricio Sandoval of Mercadito.

Guests will begin the journey at the “hidden port” Puerto Escondido with a Ceviche Blanco, lime marinated Red Snapper, shrimp, pico de gallo, Serrano chile, avocado and lime-orange broth.

Next, guests will explore the flavors of Puerto Vallarta with a Smoked White Fish Burrito, smoked white fish, blackened shrimp, toasted flour tortilla, lettuce, tomato and habanero-avocado crema.

Ah spring, we meet again. Mercadito Chicago, River North’s upscale, authentic Mexican restaurant and Molise PR client, is welcoming the new season with open arms with a special Feliz Primavera Experiential Dinner on Monday, March 20 from 6-9 p.m.

First, guests will warm up their appetites with a Trio of Guacamoles that includes Tradicional, avocado, pico de gallo, Serrano chiles, lime, cilantro and crispy tortillas; Ramps, avocado, tomatillo pico de gallo, pickled ramps, grilled corn and epazote and Al Pastor, avocado, pico de gallo, double cut bacon, grilled pineapple, ancho-guajillo chiles, cured onions and cilantro chicharrón.

Guests will then delight in a Trio de Ceviches that includes Dorado, lemon marinated mahi, pico de gallo, avocado, orange, chile de arbol broth and crispy avocado; Camaron, poached shrimp, pico de gallo, mango-jicama slaw, Serrano, lime chile piquin broth and mint; and Mixto, poached shrimp, octopus, mahi, tomatillo pico de gallo, passion fruit-Serrano broth and epazote.

The third course includes two tacos and a side; Carne, epazote marinated skirt steak, fava bean-potato hash, corn, salsa verde and crispy potato; Pollo, lemon-thyme marinated grilled chicken, artichoke hearts, Serrano-bacon mojo and crispy artichokes; and a side of Asparagus Toreados.

What’s a celebration without more tacos? Guests will be treated to two additional tacos that include Lobster, smoked peach hash, grilled ramps, jalapeño emulsion and chicharron and Pancita, herb marinated pork belly, roasted orange hash, cured onions and cilantro, spring greens slaw, chipotle piloncillo vinaigrette and crispy red onions, with a side of Spring Vegetable Slaw.

Te amo. Mercadito Chicago is making Valentine’s Day one to remember with a special Amor Por Favor Experiential Dinner on Monday, February 13 from 6-9 p.m.

Guests are invited to enjoy five courses expertly paired with Jose Cuervo cocktails. The evening is hosted by special guest Dustin Miller of Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits and Mercadito’s Corporate Chef Aldo Ayala.

The romantic night begins with Tostada de Pulpo Enamorado, slow-braised with love and spiced octopus, heart-shaped tostada, tomatillo pico de gallo, roasted garlic aioli, habanero, Serrano chile and micro cilantro.

Next, guests will indulge in Vientre de Puerco, herb-marinated dry roasted pork belly, roasted sweet potato, honey, cinnamon, chile guajillo, piloncillo glaze and micro greens.

The third course includes Callo de Hacha, pan-seared diver scallops, stir-fried “fideo” noodles, short rib ragu, garlic mojito and crispy red onions.

Oysters are known to be notorious aphrodisiacs, so guests will then delight in Carne y Ostras, pan-seared rib eye steak for two, chile rubbed oyster mushrooms, leek fondue, Serrano oyster cream sauce and crispy oysters.

La Mez New Year Package

Downstairs at Mercadito Chicago is the intimate La Mez Agave Lounge, which features a carefully curated list of more than 75 mezcals, along with expertly crafted cocktails. Guests are invited to celebrate New Years Eve in the upscale lounge while enjoying a five-course sharing menu (see above), a four-hour open bar that includes specialty cocktails and well liquors presented by Hornitos Tequila, live music and a special Champagne toast at midnight. Guests can also order beverages from the cash bar.

Kinzie St.) and Chicago Public Relations client and celebrate friends both new and old with a special Friendsgiving Experiential Dinner inspired by El Tesoro de Don Felipe® Tequila on Monday, November 21 from 6-9 p.m.

Friends will enjoy a bountiful meal complemented by cocktails featuring El Tesoro, the award-winning line of ultra-premium tequila. The dinner is hosted by Mercadito’s Executive Chef Patricio Sandoval and special guest James Hyde, El Tesoro’s Global Tequila Ambassador from Beam Suntory.

Guests will start off with Botanas, spiced nuts, poblano artichoke spinach dip, house made crackers, wild mushrooms on toast and thyme cream.

Guests are invited to enjoy five courses accompanied by five Casamigos Tequila cocktails. The dinner is hosted by Monica Dim of Casamigos Tequila and Chef Patricio Sandoval of Mercadito.

To begin the night, guests can enjoy Sopa de Calabaza, roasted butternut squash, huitlacoche croutons, chile morita powder and wild mushroom oil.

The second course includes a Huarache de Maiz Azul, pinto bean corn masa, chorizo, cabbage, cured onions and cilantro, chile de arbol crema and salsa rojacotija cheese.

Next, guests will revel in Tacos de Chicharron de Camaron, pork rind batter shrimp, caramelized pico de gallo and Mexican-style coleslaw.

Clase Azul Tequila Dinner, August 8

On Monday, August 8, guests are invited to enjoy a special Clase Azul Tequila Dinner, inspired by Mexico’s Jalisco region. Enjoy five gourmet courses, accompanied with five Clase Azul Tequila cocktails. The dinner takes place between 6-9 p.m. and is hosted by Clase Azul proprietor Arturo Lomeli and Chef Patricio Sandoval of Mercadito.

Arturo Lomeli is the Founder and Managing Director of Casa Tradicion. He has been producing Ultra Premium Tequilas for more than 10 years. His award winning Clase Azul Reposado has received praise in the U.S. with Gold Medals from the highly acclaimed San Francisco World Spirits Competition and the Beverage Testing Institute in Chicago, and a 92 rating from the internationally regarded Anthony Dias Blue.

For the first course, guests can enjoy Ceviches estilo Puerto Vallarta, lime marinated white fish, shrimp, cucumber, carrots, pico de gallo, red onion, cumin, black pepper, Serrano chile, cilantro and lime.

The second course includes Tortitas Ahogadas, bolillo, pork carnitas, pickled white onion, chile de arbol salsa and tomato salsa.

Next are Tacos de Carne en su jugo, pan seared filet strips, bacon, tomatillo, Serrano chile, cilantro, cured onions, house made corn tortilla and crispy chicharron.

The fourth course includes Taquiza de birria de chivo, braised goat, chile guajillo, sesame seed, apple cider vinegar, cinnamon, tomatoes, garlic, cured onions, parsley and blue corn tortillas.

To top off the night, guests can indulge in Jericalla, vanilla and cinnamon custard.

Salud! Mercadito Chicago, River North’s upscale, authentic Mexican restaurant a Molise PR client (108 W. Kinzie St.), is raising a glass to National Tequila Day on Sunday, July 24 with a special prix fixe menu, including a specialty Mercadito tequila cocktail of your choice, available from 3 p.m. to Midnight.

Guests can enjoy a prix fixe menu including your choice of three types of guacamole, two dishes of ceviches or botanas, four tacos, one side, one dessert and one tequila cocktail.

First, select your guacamole.
