Hasta la vista! Mercadito Chicago, a Chicago PR client, is taking guests on a culinary journey down the Gulf of Mexico region with a special Summer Experiential Dinner on Monday, August 21 from 6-9 p.m.

Hosted by Corporate Chef Aldo Ayala and special guest Paul Sauter of Diageo, guests are invited to indulge in five courses accompanied by five Zacapa Rum pours.

First stop on the tour is Xalapa, the capital city of Veracruz, where guests are welcomed with Jalapeños Rellenos de Minilla, pickled jalapeños stuffed with tuna; Garnacha de Res, corn tortilla, braised beef and chile morita; and Camarón, coconut batter shrimp, pineapple marmalade and pickled red onion.

The journey continues south to Veracruz with a special Ceviche, lime marinated fish, red onion, tomato, pickled jalapeños, olives, parsley, tomato-citrus broth and crispy capers.


Next, guests head back north to Tamaulipas with Jaibas, lightly fried blue crab meat stuffed shells, tomato sofrito, garlic, parsley, Serrano chiles and breadcrumbs.

Guests will then take a stroll down the historic district of Campeche with Pollo Pibil, Achiote marinated braised chicken, banana leaf, pickled red onions and habaneros, sour orange salsita, mustard seeds and burnt tortillas.

The journey ends on a sweet note back in Veracruz with Vainilla, vanilla bean flan, piloncillo caramel and vanilla bean toasted nuts.

Imerman Angels, the leading global one-on-one cancer support community and Chicago PR client, has been named a Scale Award recipient at the 2017 Creator Awards for their work in providing free personalized connections that enable one-on-one support for cancer fighters, survivors and caregivers. The Scale Award, which includes a $180,000 grant, is given to established organizations that are ready to take their business to the next level.


The event, hosted and sponsored by WeWork, received 600 applicants that were narrowed down to five Scale Award finalists who had the opportunity to pitch their business to a panel of judges and explain how and why they are ready to expand. In addition to Imerman Angels, Chicago nonprofit Bunker Labs and Detroit-based The Empowerment Plan took home top honors in the category.

Founded in 2006 by cancer survivor Jonny Imerman, Imerman Angels to date has enabled more than 34,000 connections in all 50 states and more than 60 countries. These one-on-one relationships provide a cancer fighter or caregiver the chance to ask personal questions and receive support from someone uniquely familiar with the experience. Recent medical studies have shown that psychosocial support during and after the cancer fight is crucial to quality of life.

“We are thrilled that our work over the past 11 years has been recognized through this large award,” says Ben Bornstein, Imerman Angels CEO and Executive Director. “This grant will allow us to scale our one-on-one cancer support services by expanding our presence in other US markets outside Chicago including Detroit, Los Angeles and New York, plus reach more people touched by cancer around the world by expanding our digital presence and hiring additional cancer support specialists, including those who speak other languages.”

Hard Rock Cafe Chicago, a Molise PR client, in partnership with ReverbNation, hosts a regional battle of the bands, Hard Rock Rising, on Saturday, May 13 beginning at 9 pm. Four local bands will take the stage to compete for their chance to advance on and perform during halftime at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens.

Local music industry leaders will unite in support of Chicago musicians at this high energy competition. Lauren O’Neil from 101WKQX will emcee the evening, and the panel of judges includes Tom Barnas, WGN TV Around Town and Music Lounge Producer; Michael Heidemann, WGN AM Radio Executive Producer and Host of Sound Sessions podcast; and Jim Kopeny, Chicagoist Senior Editor, Arts & Entertainment.

Hard Rock Cafe Chicago’s local finalist will receive $1,000, a Fender instruments prize pack, and a 1,000 CD/DVD pack of the artist’s latest recording or video from Bison Disc. They will also advance on to be judged by a panel of international music industry professionals who will select the global grand prize winner. The grand prize recipient will perform during halftime at Hard Rock Stadium and will have the opportunity to create a professionally produced music video, which will be added to Hard Rock’s world-wide video system.

Randhurst Village Celebrates the Holiday Season in Mount Prospect

Presenting The Magical Animated Holiday Light Show December 3 – 17

It’s the most magical time of the year! Randhurst Village – a shopping, dining and entertainment destination located at the corner of Rand and Elmhurst Roads in Mount Prospect and Molise PR client – is brightening the holiday shopping season with the annual Magical Animated Holiday Light Show.

From December 3- 17, Randhurst Village will present a magical light projection show every night at Center Court, running every half hour from 6 – 8 p.m. The show will be projected onto a portion of the Hampton Inn Hotel, bringing it to life with customized 3-D projections featuring elves, icicles, snowflakes and other holiday images, all set to dramatic holiday music.  To view a peak from last year’s show, visit

Imerman Angels presents the third annual Wings of Hope Gala on Saturday, September 17 from 6 p.m. to Midnight at the Ritz-Carlton, Chicago (160 E. Pearson St.). The evening will continue the organization’s 10-year anniversary celebration and advance its mission to provide connections that enable one-on-one support for cancer fighters, survivors, and caregivers.

The Wings of Hope Gala is a black tie optional event that celebrates life and compassion. The evening begins with a welcome reception including cocktails, passed hors d’oeuvres and the opportunity for guests to bid on impressive silent auction items. At 7 p.m. guests will be escorted to their tables where they will enjoy a special ceremony honoring Dr. Steven T. Rosen and City of Hope. Actress and Chicago native Bonnie Hunt, who first pursued her acting career at the renowned Second City Theater while working as an oncology nurse at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, will emcee the evening’s program.

Imerman Angels, a Chicago Public Relations client, has selected City of Hope as the recipient of the 2016 Angel Award for Outstanding Medical Service in the Cancer Community, an award that recognizes healthcare providers who demonstrate exceptional medical service and care for their patients and their families. The 75th anniversary celebration is in full swing at Chicago dining legend Gene & Georgetti with the announcement of a new General Manager and a special donation to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

cp1_6472Proprietors Tony and Marion Durpetti, along with Managing Partners Michelle Durpetti and Rich Ciota are pleased to announce the appointment of Adam Solomon as the new General Manager at the downtown location.

A native to Philadelphia, Adam began his career in his home state where he held nearly every job in the restaurant industry, from server to line cook to Executive Chef. Adam began running World Fusion in 2002 as the General Manager and moved to Chicago in 2013. From there, he assisted in many projects, including helping to open STK Chicago before finding his home at Gene & Georgetti.

“Adam’s multi-faceted experience in the restaurant industry, both in the front and back of the restaurant, makes him the perfect addition to the Gene & Georgetti team,” says Managing Partner Rich Ciota. “We are thrilled to have Adam on board and lend his extensive knowledge and passion to our brand as we look forward to the next 75 years.”

75th Anniversary Donation to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation


Back in July, Gene & Georgetti curated a special 75th Anniversary menu that was available for three days only in both Chicago and Rosemont locations. Through the generosity of guests who dined on those three days, Gene & Georgetti raised $10,000 to directly benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, which honored Gene & Georgetti with the inaugural Chicago Classic award for lifetime achievement at their 2015 Jean Banchet Awards.

The check was presented to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation during an annual fundraising event held at Gene & Georgetti’s Rosemont location. There were over 500 attendees at the event, including families living with Cystic Fibrosis.

Randhurst Village (located at the intersection of Rand and Elmhurst Roads in Mount Prospect) is bringing together local community groups, stores and restaurants as well as special entertainment and presentations for a day filled with family-friendly fun in a one-of-a-kind outdoor event in its first ever Randhurst Village Street Fest event Saturday September 10 from noon to 5 p.m.

This free event will take place on Randhurst Village Drive beginning at Center Court near Charming Charlie and ending in front of AMC Randhurst theatres. This section of the Drive will be closed to vehicular traffic during the event. Guests are invited to bring their own chairs to enjoy the live performances.

The fun begins at noon, when the Daily Herald’s Matt Avery presents exceptional classic cars with their original owners. Matt Avery, who weekly tells the stories of cars and their owners, will interview owners and showcase their autos.

From 3 – 5 p.m., rock out with this year’s Street Fest headliner Modern Day Romeos. The Top 40 cover band and local fan favorite’s set-list includes Motown classics, metal anthems, classic rock treasures, 80’s favorites, 90’s gems, and the top hits of the 2000’s with their own special style and twist!

Andy Hendrickson, September 15-17: Not only has Andy Hendrickson made TV appearances on David Letterman, The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, Gotham Comedy Live and NBC’s Last Comic Standing, but he was also one of the stars of the recently released movie The Clean Guys of Comedy. It broadcast live via satellite in over 600 theaters nationwide. His stand-up style is one of the hardest to deliver: dry, clever, and clean. A true comedy veteran with over seventeen years of experience, Andy can adapt his routine to any corporate or professional audience.

Andy has a conversational delivery that draws on real life experiences based on family, work and relationships. A gifted storyteller, he shares hilarious anecdotes about life growing up as the one black sheep in a family, with two Navy Seals and three Ivy League graduates. One of his best known routines centers around his older brother who’s an Admiral, Navy Seal and a Harvard Business School alumnus. “Hey Andy, why are you’re so pale?” “Just my brother’s shadow my whole life.” In 2006, Andy was given the opportunity to thank his brother for his service and performed for him, and the troops, in Iraq. In 2011, he returned to Middle East on the Feeding Freedom Tour. Paul Hooper, September 22-24: An only child with OCD, Paul Hooper channels his dysfunction into a cathartic harangue. He has an undeniable likability that he plays to the hilt through his bulletproof rants. This native of Charlotte, North Carolina, now residing in New York City, has been featured on Gotham Comedy Live on AXS TV, Red Eye with Tom Shillue, at the HBO Comedy Festival in Vegas, Bridgetown Comedy Festival in Portland, Oregon, the Boston Comedy Festival, Michael Moore and Jeff Garlin’s Traverse City Comedy Arts Festival, the Vancouver Comedy Fest and was a finalist in the 30th Annual Seattle International Comedy Competition. A seasoned headliner, Paul has performed in forty-two states and ten countries, including two armed forces tours.  HIs debut solo album, “Tense and Uncomfortable” was released in October of 2013 with Stand Up! Records, and is available on iTunes.

Drunk Science with Sean Flannery, every Wednesday at 8 p.m. Hosted by Chicago comedian Sean Flannery, Drunk Science is a comedy show about the science of what happens to your brain when you drink, interspersed with funny anecdotes, pictures and more.

Big SEXY Show, every Saturday at 11 p.m. The hottest show in Chicago has landed at The Comedy Bar. Big SEXY Show is a tour de force of burlesque, comedy, circus, vaudeville and music created by internationally acclaimed showgirl and Burlesque Hall of Fame inductee Michelle L’amour.
